You might be having a breakout or just a single spot. But do you know exactly what kind of blemish you’re facing? Knowing what you’re up against is the first step to treating your acne.
Whiteheads
Whiteheads appear on your skin when blocked pores close up, creating small white bumps on the surface. They are not yet infected, and are neither swollen nor red.
Blackheads
Blackheads form when pores clogged with oil do not close up. When exposed to air, the blocked pore turns black, creating the tiny black dots you see on your skin.
Pimples
Pimples appear when a clogged pore ruptures and gets infected by bacteria, making skin inflamed, red and sore. They can form either on the surface or much deeper in your skin, and can sometimes be filled with pus.
